Kia ora koutou Papanui Baptist,

Firstly, we want to say thank you! We’ve been here for just over a month now, and we can’t believe how easy it’s been to settle into this new city and new     community. You’ve overwhelmed us by your generosity, and we’ve now lost count of the number of offers for help with setting up our (first) home. We’ve been well and truly cared and catered for – and by a people who hardly know us. Thanks for modelling and joining in on God’s gracious provision for us; may we continue to be a community that blesses others as we’ve been blessed! (Thanks too for the weather – think it’s only rained twice since we got here!)

Coming up at Papanui Baptist, we continue with the Participate series for another 3 weeks. Then looking to early June we’ll be beginning a series working through the Samuel narrative. Keep an eye out for the first week of that series, it’ll be a bit different! In the meantime, school’s back this week, so we’ll be  thinking of all our young people as they head back into the classroom and soak up all there is to learn. With term 2 starting, Y@P’s back on Wednesday nights, and on Sunday mornings we’ll have crèche, kids’ church, and the return of G- Reps – a group especially for our intermediate-aged youth.

It’s great to be here together as a community that belongs to God and one another, that’s growing in Christ together, and that’s influencing the world around us in the power of the Spirit.

Kia pai tō koutou rā,

Elliot & Sarah Rice (co-pastors)
