Mōrena, and welcome to Papanui@Home! We thank God that by his Spirit, we the body of Christ are being united to one another even now as we worship this morning in separate places.
You may like to light a candle now, and spend time praying the following prayer, pausing after each line.
Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know that I.
Be still and know.
We invite you to pause for a time of silence—however long you’re comfortable with—to rest in the presence of the Triune God.

Prayer from St Patrick’s Breastplate
After you’ve spent some time in silence, we encourage you to speak out this prayer with us:
Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

Prayer for Others
We invite you now to intercede for other nations as they respond to Covid-19, and particularly those people and places for whom the virus serves only to fuel pre-existing poverty and oppression.
Here’s one example of how that’s happening, in beautiful India. (Google search: The Guardian, “How coronavirus is dividing India”)
Children & Families Activity
Helena introduces our children & families activity for this week, and an update about our children & families ministry for the weeks to come.

Many of you will have heard our Prime Minister give the update about what we can expect from Level 2. It certainly looks like a refreshing change from the last six or so weeks. And yet there is still much that’s up in the air, including when Level 2 will arrive, and whether or not its arrival will be staggered (e.g., with some areas and sectors entering Level 2 while others remain in Level 3). It looks like the government announcement on Monday will hold more information for us. As such, we’re not yet making any plans for returning to our normal modes of gathering, though we’re certainly beginning to dream what that might look like.

“Be Still” (Psalm 46:10)
Devotion by Sala.
Led by Josiah.
Song: “Be Still My Soul”
Recording by Tami Neilson & Don McGlashan | Video available in the YouTube playlist.
You may like to sing along to this, or to listen in quiet reflection.
The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.
Pass the peace!
As usual, we finish our gatherings by spending time with each other over a cuppa. We encourage you to take the time now to call one or two others and connect.
