It is with a mix of deep sadness and joyful hope that we share the news of Peter Sapsford’s death and exaltation to glory. He passed peacefully on Tuesday morning, having turned 88 years old earlier in the month. The picture is of him celebrating at Burwood Hospital during lockdown—what a beautiful expression of his joyful personality. Peter had been able to enjoy special moments with his family in the last week or two after the lockdown. Our thoughts and prayers are with Philip and Susan, Ben, Anna, Katie, and Josh Sapsford, together with their extended family as they grieve their loss, remember his life and celebrate Peter’s gain.”But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” (Phil 3:20-21). Peter’s funeral will take place next Tuesday morning, and a live stream video will be available for people to watch from home—we’ll share the information for this later in the week.
