Thanks to all those who attended or gave apologies for Sunday’s AGM. We were thrilled to have two thirds of our members in attendance. It’s great to see how much we all care about this whānau, as evidenced both by the presence of so many and by the discussions we had through the meeting. The results from the vote, taken at the end of the meeting, are as follows:
  • The church has voted to increase the budget to include a 0.25 FTE Youth Intern role, meaning we’ve taken on a 3.5% increase to projected offerings income. In light of this, we encourage everybody at this stage to revise their current giving to the church in order to help us meet this increased budget. We will be interviewing Daniel Carter for the role in early December.
  • The church has discerned God’s call on Matai’a Salatielu Tiatia (Sala) into eldership for an initial three-year term. He’ll be joining the team in the New Year.
  • The church has likewise affirmed Ken Newlands for a renewal of his role in the elders for up to one year, after which time he will retire from the elders.
Ngā mihi nui,
Sarah and Elliot
